Common Property Resources (CPRs) are the open access natural resources of villages, communities or habitations. Millions of people derive their livelihood from such resources but their constant depletion has endangered such livelihood base and livestock production. This book attempts to address various issues and concerns of CPRs i.e depletion due to land use / land cover change and its consequences, dependency of rural households on CPRs for livelihood along various socio-physical variables, dependency of livestock production on CPRs, analysis of existing governance and management of CPRs in Jammu and Kashmir, assessment of the scope of participatory management schemes and prioritization of future actions under participatory management. The book ends with the conclusion and suggestions. Dr. Mohammed Farooq Kalas is a young author of village chhawa in District Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir, India. He got his doctorate from Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University) New Delhi and qualified National Eligibility Test after having PG in Geography, B.Ed and PG Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS from University of Kashmir Srinagar India.
