Monika
Gaenssbauer,
b.
1968,
is
Visiting
Professor
of
Chinese
Studies
at
the
Department
of
Middle
Eastern
and
Far
Eastern
Languages
and
Cultures,
University
of
Erlangen.
She
earned
her
Ph.D.
in
1996
in
Bochum
and
completed
her
post-doctoral
degree
in
2008
at
the
University
of
Erlangen.
In
2005/2006
she
spent
one
term
as
Visiting
Professor
at
the
University
of
Freiburg
i.Br.
For
several
years
she
served
as
Director
of
the
China
Study
Project
in
Hamburg
and
taught
at
Hamburg
University.
Her
main
research
interests
are
Chinese
literature,
political
developments
in
China
and
also
religions
in
China.
Monika
Gaenssbauer
has
published
numerous
articles
and
several
books
including
"Trauma
der
Vergangenheit.
Der
Autor
Feng
Jicai
und
die
Kulturrevolution"
(monograph,
1996)
and
"Parteistaat
und
Protestantische
Kirche.
Religionspolitik
im
nachmaoistischen
China"
(monograph,
2004).
