Conker Wood

Autor Harold G. Millican
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 25 feb 2021
Imagine a place where there's swimming, fishing and boating. A place where there are trees to climb, long banks and slopes to slide down and paths to explore. A place for games and adventure for everyone. A place where there is always something to do, friends to make and keep, and challenges to meet.
Now imagine this is a place where birds and animals live happily together, interacting with one another on a daily basis. And now imagine who might be most important there, someone to look up to.
The place is Conker Wood and, of course, Hoowits the Owl is the most important. Like all owls, Hoowits is very wise That's exactly what he thinks too, especially when he's perched on his Thinking Branch
Hoowits helps the Wood friends through many problems, but these stories are not only about him; why is Wodge the Woodpigeon so busy, and where does Crowley the Crow's fantastic dream take him? Even Hoowits makes a mistake All this will be revealed when you read these stories.

Notă biografică

After National Service in the Royal Air Force and 40 years in the Civil Service, Harold's retirement provides him time for writing children's stories: a long-time ambition. His marriage to Maureen was blessed with four children who, between them, have added ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren to the family. Maureen unfortunately passed away in 2003 and after several years, Harold married Sandra, 17 years his younger. Keen on sport, Harold has run two half-marathons, played tennis, badminton, squash, cricket and football. Harold and Sandra now enjoy their family, walking, the National Trust and visiting places of interest.
