The object of the present work is mainly to place before the Architectural Student, in a concise and practical form, correct methods of designing the Constructional Iron and Steel work now so generally used in all classes of buildings; and it is believed that this volume will be found acceptable not only by students, but by many Architects in actual practice, and by persons engaged in Building. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900's and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
