We are contending with (fighting against) the forces of darkness, who are bent on doing evil, and thwarting and fighting against God's Plans, Purposes, Ways, and Will. Believers are God's representatives on the earth, and we walk and work to see God's Will and Plans come to pass on this earth. In contending with the devil, who does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy, God commands us to put on the whole Armour of God, that we may stand and not fall. Watch and pray, so that you do not fall into temptation; the spirit, indeed, is willing, but the flesh is weak. Give no place to the devil, and do not be ignorant of his devices.
