Cow Pasture Beginnings

John McGraw, in 1913, stated: "Naturally, I think baseball is the most admirable pastime in the world, a keen combination of wit, intelligence and muscle.... It develops the mind, establishes discipline and gives to those who take part in it sound bodies, clear heads and a better sense of life" (The Old Ball Game, Frank Deford). Ron Pegg has coached, managed, umpired and administrated baseball in Ontario for over half a century. He is an honourary member of Ontario Baseball and he has received achievement awards from the Province of Ontario, Toronto, Northern Ontario, Little League, Beeton and Flesherton. He was the OBA's first winner of the provincial volunteer-of-the-year award. He has always been supported by his wife, Cathy, and their children, Jamie, Rob and Stacey.
