Cross Trails to Calgary

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountain wilderness, "Cross Trails to Calgary" is the story of an unlikely friendship between a twelve-year-old girl and a convicted murderer on an epic trek through the Western frontier.

Katie Elder and her mother are returning home after the funeral of Katie's favorite aunt when their stagecoach receives a passenger who could be trouble. Ryan Branam has been convicted of murdering the son of a local rancher. But when the stagecoach is attacked by outlaws, it's Ryan's quick thinking that saves Katie. With the others dead, Katie has a difficult decision to make: Will she be better off going with the convict or staying with the outlaws?

Taking her chances with the prisoner, she sets out with Ryan on foot through the rugged Montana backcountry to the nearest depot and a stagecoach home. However, finding the town of Jennings in a state of panic after the massacre of General Custer's troops, the two are bound to remain a team.
