Notă biografică

Having worked for over a decade as a successful journalist in India and Dubai, UAE, Mahmood Mustafa migrated to Canada with his family in 1993. After a brief stint of freelance journalism, he began work in the immigration and settlement sector. He continued in the field for over 25 years, helping hundreds of immigrants and refugees start a new life in their new country. Mahmood served the last 11 years of his career as a settlement services manager and retired in 2019.
Born and raised in India, Mahmood completed his education from the prestigious Osmania University in Hyderabad with a focus on English Literature. After completing his studies, Mahmood briefly moved to England before returning to India to pursue a career in journalism. Having worked for English newspapers in India, he eventually relocated to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to work with Khaleej Times, a leading English-language newspaper in the Middle East.
He continued to be an avid reader of English, Urdu and Hindi literature. His extensive travel around the world has influenced the style and theme of his work. His poetry forms a literary canvas painted by the complex hues of his study of philosophy, mysticism, and history. Mahmood tries to give each subject a very personal and original touch. He published two collections of poems in India. The Bridge and the Bend (2019) and Crossroads and Beyond (2015) are his two works in Canada.
