Descriere

The phenomenon of globalization is now recognized as a key factor in the post-modern civilization and touches every citizen of our planet. Issues of globalization currently appear in nearly all disciplines and research areas. Interest in globalization, its manifestations and trends are reinforced by the fact that communication and transport systems, transfer of capital and information, population migration and the creation of "social networking" – as a result of the digital revolution – are rapidly developing.
This book is presenting an overview of papers resulting from an International Conference in Vienna, organized by the Pan-European University (PEU). The Conference’s research aims were the analysis, synthesis and comparison of current impacts of globalization on those scientific disciplines that are in the centre of Pan-European University’s academic orientation. Thus scientific teams and individuals from the fields of law, economics, media sciences, informatics and psychology defined their scholarly opinions and conclusions. Interdisciplinary research on complex issues such as globalization may ultimately provide innovative and creative solutions. The great benefit for the researchers attending was the opportunity to compare and discuss their views directly with their foreign colleagues. The choice for the Technical University of Vienna as the location to organize the conference, symbolized the international dimension of the field of research.
