From Chapter 5: An Introduction to Curved Joinery: "Here's an illustration of why a curved joint is far stronger than a straight joint. Draw a straight line on a piece of paper. You can easily fold the paper along the line. Now, draw a curved line on a piece of paper and try to fold the paper along the curve. It can't be done. The same is true in a wood panel." In Chapter 7, Joining Boards Along A Curve: "Initially, while learning this technique, use boards which are no more than three feet long and eight inches wide. As you get comfortable with the process, you'll be able to work with longer and wider boards. The only limit on the width and length of the boards you use is your work space, your tools and your project facilitation skills."
