»The Age of Genocides« The book provides a transdisciplinary survey of genocide in the 20th century. The origins, patterns and consequences of destructive political violence are discussed and exemplified by various case studies on the Shoah, the Armenian genocide, the Rwandan genocide, genocidal violence in former Yugoslavia, in Cambodia and in the region of Sub-Saharan Africa, partly in a comparative perspective. In addition, artistic attempts are presented trying to illustrate the dimension of the crimes.
