This story is about three brothers: my eldest brother, Dennis; middle brother, Luther; and me (Seth), Rickey as I am known. Though we have nothing in common, we did work together on various projects, and many times we would travel around the western part of the United States at different jobsites. My brothers would frequently go to bars after work, and I would go to my room. We would have no dealings with each other after work because of our different lifestyles. They did their own thing, and I did mine. One evening, after work, my brothers and I met at a bar. They asked if I would join them on a family outing in Mount St. Helens, which would include our wives and children. Mount St. Helens is located in Skamania County, Washington, in the Northwestern Region in the United States. Mount St. Helens is still an active volcano and could erupt anytime. The mountain stands 8,363 feet high. My brothers and I decided to camp on the north side of the mountain and enjoy our family. We did not know that a deadly day was ahead of us. That day turned out to be a blessing to us all, especially for me, because it felt as if we were closer that day than any other time of our lives.
