Recenzii

"Elegant... delicate meditation on the cyclical nature of history, and the strength of communities" Observer "Packed with incident... Hooton's delicate, detailed observations of flora and fauna contrast with the rising tension" Guardian "A beautifully evocative and carefully crafted novel that skilfully captures a vivid landscape while giving us a glimpse into the lives of its diverse yet complex community. Tensely atmospheric, building to a stunning and horrifying climax, this is truly a novel to savour" WBQ "Assured debut... he takes care to develop the lives of several other absorbing characters living on the road. The author's bright narrative style might initially seem at odds with the enveloping cloud of past events and approaching menace, but it works well to draw the reader into the tale" Sunday Business Post "Hooton's voice is beautifully lyrical, gentle and appreciative of nature; as the novel builds we too are drawn into this world, and the jaggedly horrifying finale. Beautifully written and highly recommended" -- Victoria Moore Daily Mail
