The Federation of Freedom of Science dissolved in 2015. Since its inception, it had been highly polarizing. Opponents of the 1968 movement had organized themselves in it in order to influence federal and state university reforms and to push back co-determination in the universities. The study deals with the emergence and development of the interest group as well as with its goals and members. On the basis of a wide range of sources and with the help of eyewitness interviews, she reconstructs the formation and activities of the association with the aim of an objective view of the years 1970 to 1976.
