Fathering in a Father-Friendly Welfare State looks at Scandinavian parental leave policies, focusing on how extensive leave for fathers can affect traditional gender roles and increase paternal involvement in children’s lives. In addition to examining how time off for fathers has altered welfare working life in these countries, Brandth and Kvande postulate on how the incoming populations of migrant fathers may relate to the laws and expectations in place in Norway and its neighbors.
