Desperate Destruction

The American Dream--two kids, a home, and job security; I had all that. But I did not know my son was a drug addict. My youngest child was destroying our home. As a mother, you wonder, what did I do wrong? I taught him right from wrong, took him to church. How could he make these choices? He is hurting everyone, but he does not care. An addict will do anything to get the money he needs. He is so deceitful and full of lies. But the addiction has so consumed him that he has resorted to stealing from us, pawning tools and jewelry. I beg him to get help, but he insists he does not want or need help. I know that I am going to be forced to make some decisions that will affect him forever. Can I do that? Will he ever understand? Will he or the rest of the family ever forgive me?
