Inflammation is established as a factor for development of diabetes mellitus. Not much is known about the potentially unique features of inflammatory process in diabetic vascular disease. This book discusses the role of inflammatory biomarkers: C-reactive protein and fibrinogen in initiation and progression of atherosclerosis in diabetic patients and the way of their control. Also discussed herein are various contributing factors to this serious condition and its management.
