The Souss Massa area is the first region with a great agricultural potential in terms of production of different speculations (citrus fruits, early vegetables, market gardening...) and it was the first region to introduce the latest modern tools of localized irrigation (Goutte A Goutte), the introduction of modern irrigation techniques made the region the first exporter of citrus fruits and early vegetables in Morocco. To this end, and in order to maintain this potential, it was necessary to give great importance to the management and maintenance of irrigation networks and works.
