Harry is living a life many dream of, but few achieve. He is a wealthy individual who is obsessed with making money at all cost. His wife Beatrice while initially intrigued by the ambition of her husband to provide her with a good upper middleclass life-style is after 15 years of marriage confronted with the reality that her marriage is slowly falling apart because of different expectations, lack of communication, understanding and common ground. Through the prayers of their son Charles, who is handicapped, Harry meets an angel on the road to Whistler whom he thought initially to be a Hell's Angel, but is in fact a Heaven's Angel sent to him by God. The angel's name is Longinus, who was in his earthly life a Roman soldier, who participated in the crucifixion of Jesus and ensured that he died on the cross. Thus he is a witness to the crucifixion. Both, Harry and Longinus agree to a dialogue about what is really important in life. It is not money, but love as expressed in the relationship between husband and wife, but also in the relationship to God, a God who is holy which means perfectly good and perfect love.
