"Alcoholic" was a word I heard so often while I was growing up, I never thought it to be of some negative value, only that it was a word of reference. "Addict was a word I heard, but not as often and it was always associated in a negative way. I had no idea that both words would be used to describe who and what I am today. It wasn't until later on in life that I realized that in my early teens I was being courted by an addiction recognized today as a "disease." This book is presented in most part from the perspective and profile side of the "DISEASE," along with the many layers and aspects of how it can slowly manipulate its way into a life, any life, and take it over mind, body and soul.
