But Steve and Alex still feel like they might not be ready to go to the End. It takes a few encounters with a witch to prove to Steve that he and Alex are more than ready and they make a great team. All of the challenges they have faced have been preparing them for this final showdown with the Ender Dragon. All seems to go well until the Ender Dragon knocks Alex off an obsidian pillar and Steve goes into a rage induced Endermen-slaying spree. Steve discovers just how much he really cares about Alex.
