This work addresses the criminal prosecution of Nazi criminals by West German courts, focusing specifically on the trial of former members of the German security police in Bialystok, Poland. Drawing on perspectives offered by legal philosophy and doctrine as well as on audio recordings of the trials, the author analyses the principles of the criminal investigation and the court's reconstruction of the facts in relation to forensic dynamics.
