The 1920s and 1930s in Europe were characterized by contradictions and ambivalences, social upheavals, economic crises and collapses, and the associated social and political conflicts. By dealing with the fascization with a focus on southern and eastern Europe and a special accent on the Austrian development, the present publication is dedicated to the crises of democracy in the interwar period on the basis of 12 studies.
