There is a pressing need for discussing and clearly defining issues surrounding sustainable action, regional economic cycles, and, first and foremost, the city as an independent source of knowledge and raw materials. Taking the city of Delitzsch as an example, this study illustrates the elements of a comprehensive approach for economic and local policy initiatives and offers inspiration for action.
