Among the members recorded for the latter stages of the "Fruchtbringende Gesellschaft" (FG), the Königsberg scholar, writer and poet Martin Kempe certainly deserves especial consideration. His "Palm-Zweig Der Teutschen Helden-Sprache und Poeterey" (1664) is definitely one of the most outstanding academic productions of the later FG, while his biographical dictionary of authors "Unvorgreiffliches Bedencken" (1681) merits close attention from researchers on the Baroque period. This is the first time that these works have been reprinted since their original publication. As yet there has been no monograph on Kempe; the detailed bio-bibliographic material on this figure and his fellow "Fruchtbringer" from Elbingen, Gottfried Zamehl, are thus designed to encourage further study.
