Richard Watson is an author, lecturer and futurist. He has written on creativity, innovation, and future thinking for numerous publications including Fast Company and McKinsey's What Matters. He is a proponent of scenario planning and an advocate of preferred futures, believing it is incumbent upon organisations to create compelling visions of the future and work towards their realization. He has worked with the Strategic Trends Unit at the UK Ministry of Defence, the RAND Corporation, CSIRO,[10] the Cabinet Office and the Departments of Education in the UK and Australia. Richard Watson works with the Foresight Practice at Imperial College London and regularly lectures at London Business School. He is the author of Future Files, which has been published in 15 languages, and the publisher of What’s Next, an online report that documents new ideas and trends.
