Both the Old and New Testaments showcase the miracles God wrought through his prophets. As Christians we should focus on the greatest miracle-maker of all time: Jesus Christ. In today's society, however, Jesus's miracles have somehow lost significance. We casually speak of walking on water, feeding the masses, and making the blind see, but we rarely think about the actual events and their true meaning. Young Christians in particular can strengthen faith through a deep understanding of God's miraculous power. Christine Davis Easterling's new book, Divine, Miraculous, Magnificent, examines each of Jesus's miracles in the context of history, geography, scripture, and spiritual interpretations. She includes lessons and activities to help young people apply the inherent messages of the miracles to their own lives. She gives special focus to the Gospel of Mark, where we see Christ actively sharing God's grace with his people through healing and deliverance. Jesus gave his followers a Great Commission: go out into the world, baptize new believers, and educate them. Today's young people want to make a difference.
