The Book of Revelations briefly discusses the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, symbols of four movements within the End of Days: famine, plague, pestilence, and death. This story posits that those "four horsemen" were once ordinary people attempting to live their lives, only to have these terrible powers thrust upon them. They are the bringers of prophecy but they do not want to be.Even worse is that as these disparate types meet up, their natural tendencies become stronger.
