This is how the book begins.I am from a Canadian city founded by Loyalists: Saint John, New Brunswick by name. These were refugees from the American War of Independence who sacrificed everything to remain true to the British crown.By the time I went through school in the 50s Loyalists were merely an historical curiosity. They never talked much about the past except to draw attention to how their forebears landed with nothing and established the city. A day was set aside annually to mark the event.But I had one teacher in junior high who acted as if she had just stepped off the boat. Every now and then she would get carried away and passionately lecture the kids on how the Americans do not know how to run a country and never will.I had forgotten that teacher entirely until the late 60s. Then we got hit by waves of draft dodgers flocking into our city, saying much worse things about their country than she ever did. Meanwhile every night on TV you'd see the Americans burning down one city after another. It made you stop and think that maybe she was on to something.Along the way I moved to Israel and here the Americans meddle in affairs much more than in Canada and they always make a mess of things. I've become very thankful that I had that teacher. It helps me understand that you cannot expect anything constructive from Americans, at least those who run the government. They always choose to do what is futile and useless so that you just have to ignore or humor them, and this has always been the standard policy of Israeli governments, when dealing with Americans.I spend my retirement churning out books because with the advent of the Internet you can actually get published. My purpose in writing is to provide food for thought and for that noble purpose I'll attack anything that moves. I add this caveat so as not to mislead people, as spoken by Hippocrates: "One man's food is another man's poison."Today I am proposing a theme for the next Dumb & Dumber film, this time starring two presidents, Bush II and Obama. How in hell did it happen that after 15 years no one bothered to trace the funding for the 9/11 terrorists? You had a bunch of guys in their 20s, none of whom had a pot to piss in, spending money like drunken sailors, and their total disbursement may have run to half a million dollars. Of the 19 who actually boarded the planes, 15 were citizens of Saudi Arabia.
