Ecuador & Galapagos Handbook: Travel Guide to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands: Footprint Handbooks

Autor Robert Kunstaetter, Daisy Kunstaetter
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 noi 2009
The phrase small is beautiful could have been coined specifically with Ecuador in mind. By South American standards, Ecuador is tiny, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in diversity. Here, one can watch dawn break over the jungle canopy, have lunch high in the Andes, then watch the sun slip into the Pacific Ocean all on the same day. Lying just over 600 miles offshore are the Galapagos Islands, inspiration for Darwin s theory of evolution and without a doubt the greatest wildlife show on Earth. Footprint s highly acclaimed guide is essential for all travelers wishing to get to grips with this small but perfectly formed country."

Notă biografică

Born and raised in Ecuador (Quito and Riobamba), Daisy Isacovici's pet peeve is being mistaken for a gringa. Robert Kunstaetter hails from Montreal, where Daisy attended university. Soon after they met in 1979, he suggested travelling in South America for 'a year or so', and they have yet to turn back. Over the years and miles, Robert and Daisy became regular correspondents for Footprint, contributing to the South American Handbook and other Latin American titles. Based back in Ecuador since 1993, they are authors of Footprint's Ecuador & Galapagos and Trekking in Ecuador. They also travel frequently to Peru and Bolivia. After all these years, Robert and Daisy still have difficulty distinguishing between work and play.
