Effects of Nationalism on Regional Integration

Autor Namisi Betsy
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 18 mar 2013
Africa has reached a point in its history where it has realized the importance and need to unite in order to grow as continent. Unification and strength in numbers is vital in rendering Africa a force to reckon with in an ever changing world. This state of affairs has seen the growth of regional bodies within the continent dating as far back as 1900 with the Pan-African movement. The three East African countries Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania made the first attempt at integration in 1967 but failed due to geographical, economical and even ideological reasons. The issue at hand is will this second attempt at integration be a success or will it face the same fate as its predecessor?
