Electro Discharge Machining Studies

Autor Mohan Khire, Amar Bhandare
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 7 mar 2012
Electro Discharge Machining studies Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) rates as the most widely used method of removing metal without creating mechanical cutting forces. The book focuses on development of facility for application and controlling dielectric flow and rate of flow during the process. This is also important. In this book, the response surface methodology is used with standard L8 configuration for determining total number of experiments and to study the main and interaction effects between various parameters such as dielectric fluids and different metals for the response variable as Material Removal Rate. The work is carried out on two fronts, 1. Improved flushing attachment 2. Development of an attachment for controlling the dielectric flow variation. The following are the conclusions. 1. The transformer oil gives more MRR effect for the mild steel (MS) material. 2.In the interaction effect of transformer oil with mild steel, aluminium materials the combined effect of current and dielectric flow rate plays important role for MRR. The book is useful for the researchers and students of advanced studies in metal working operations with non-conventional machining.
