It is based on "Ella the Doggy" book series, which is comprised of short stories for kids about a real Husky named Ella, who lives in Minnesota. You do not need to have the books to do the activities. However, having the books makes the activities in the book even more enjoyable because children are entertained by looking for the answers in the book. Those old enough to read can either do the activities with a younger child or they can complete them on their own - adults included! The activities in the book are fun and entertaining, and also help children learn how to read and write.
