Empowering Employee Proactive Behaviour: An Introduction

Editat de Fahri Özsungur, Fevziye Bekar
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 13 mar 2025
Proactive employee behaviour refers to the attempt to improve existing conditions in the workplace or create new ones, as well as actions to change one's work environment, interpersonal relationships and socialisation behaviour instead of passively adapting to it. This two-volume work explores the role of proactive behaviour in employer/employee relations and in the wider context of the organization and society. Proactive behaviour is examined in different contexts, including proactive cooperation, proactive motivation, and career and unit-oriented proactive behaviour.
This book, the first of two volumes, provides a broad description of the concepts of proactive behaviour and the research landscape. It examines areas including mental health, emotional management, disadvantaged employees, gender and queer-based perspectives, and changes and conflict. Although proactive behaviour is a desired behaviour in business life, individuals who exhibit proactive behaviour experience difficulties. For this reason, blind spots of proactive behaviour are also handled in this volume. This book is intended to be a comprehensive guide on the positive and negative organizational behaviour issues of proactive behaviour for academics and students, as well as those with a wider interest in organizational behaviour.
