Notă biografică

Starting at the Baltimore City Fire Department, Lou trained countless EMTs, CRTs and Paramedics, and their instructors. He was instrumental in developing medical protocols for field providers, guiding the development of the first ASTM EMS National Standard. He has authored, edited, reviewed and contributed to many EMS publications.As MIEMSS' Director of Prehospital Care, he led the development of the 'Trauma Go Team, ' and helped develop and taught the Med-Evac training program initially used by the Maryland State Police and the US Park Police.Lou was a member of many State and National Councils, and served as medical coordinator/advisor for the FBI-Hostage Rescue Team, US High Dive Team, American Power Boat Association and various other agencies and organizations.Among other honors during his long career, Lou received the Rocco V. Morando Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, and the Leon W. Hayes Award for Excellence in EMS in 2015. Lou is a founding member of the National EMS Museum Foundation, and is an 'Official EMS Dinosaur.
