John J Collins is Holmes Professor of Old Testament Criticism and Interpretation at Yale University. He was the President of the Society of Biblical Literature in 2002-3 and President of the Catholic Biblical Association in 1996-7. He is the author of three Fortress Press books: Daniel, Introduction to the Hebrew Bible, and Does the Bible Justify Violence?
