Recenzii
Very useful to undergraduates and others seeking theoretical background, ready reference information, or further insight into current political issues.
[A]n especially useful reference tool . . . offers comprehensive coverage of women's struggle for participation in the American political process. . . . An unexpected but useful element is the description of numerous Supreme Court decisions with implications for women's political and civil rights. . . . [T]here is excellent cross-referencing and a comprehensive index as well. . . . Recommended for libraries supporting women's studies and political science.
[A] valuable reference work that should be included in academic and medium-to-large-sized public and high school library collections.
Internal cross references, explicit end-of-article see also references, brief article-specific bibliographies, and a deep index come together to give the encyclopedia the same sort of strength women have found by coming together. . . . During the 1970's, a bumper sticker proclaimed that A woman's place is in the House; this encyclopedia's place is in public and academic library reference collections.
Reference librarians and students will appreciate the convenience of so many resources within one volume. . . . Recommended for all high school, college, and university libraries.
An excellent index enables the user to find entries easily. . . . [H]aving all the information in one volume makes this source very unique and useful. Highly recommended for academic, public, and high school libraries.
