Essays on Business and Information

Information has always been a critical part of the business equation, and now with the advent of real-time its value cannot be underestimated. These short essays focus on the nature of the relationship between business processes and information technology from my perspective as an energy industry executive and advisor charged with acquiring, managing, and assessing the data and information generated by revenue producing assets such as oil field properties, refineries, pipelines, and chemical plants-the complete process and value chain of the energy industry including retail outlets. Hopefully, it sheds fresh light on several contemporary management issues.
