Essential Guide to Semiconductor Technology: Essential (Prentice Hall)

Autor James Turley
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 30 noi 2002

The hitchhiker's guide to Silicon Valley and to the technology that drives today's robust computing possibilities.

  • Aids in the understanding of key terms and technology in a conjunctive fashion, complete with diagrams and flow charts.
  • Conceptual enough for laypeople and non-technical investors and technically detailed in key areas for experienced technical readers.
  • The semiconductor market is bigger than communications and electronics are a part of absolutely every electronic device.
Semiconductors are the building blocks of computing. They are the electronic chips that are in every computer and device on the market. Cellphones, cars, computers (of all kinds), gaming systems, machines - anything with hardware has an electronic (or semiconductor) component. This is the professional's guide to the business and technology of semiconductor design and manufacturing. The semiconductor industry lends itself very well to a book of this kind. Just as the telecommunications area, the semiconductor industry is broad and complicated. There's a definite need for a book that explains the in's and out's of the technology and how it works - without bogging down readers with too much technical content.James L. Turley is a semiconductor industry analyst, editor, and lecturer in Silicon Valley. He is a regular columnist for Embedded Systems Programming, Computer Design, Circuits Cellar, and Supermicro magazines. Jim also provides consulting services to leading semiconductor firms and is often called upon to participate in new product reviews, strategy sessions, and technology development. He has also written 6 books on a number of different topics, including PC's Made Easy.
