Roy Kingsbury Piper was born in Keene, New Hampshire in 1928 on a record-setting windy day. In 1950, he graduated from Brown University, then spent nearly two years in the Philippines with the Army Corp of Engineers during the Korean War. He met his future bride, Anne, in New Jersey, they married in 1956, and then had four children after returning to his home town. Roy worked as a Land Surveyor until he retired in the 1990s, then he and Anne traveled the eastern United States showcasing fine antiques. This is when he honed his skills in verse. Roy is a member of the Poetry Society of New Hampshire, and has been writing poems for his friends, family, and seven grandchildren for as long as anyone can remember.
