Notă biografică

Katherine Ebury is Senior Lecturer in Modern Literature at the University of Sheffield, UK. Her previous publications include Modernism and Cosmology (2014) and Joyce's Non-Fiction Writings (2018), as well as several articles and chapters. The present volume has been generously supported by an AHRC Leadership Fellowship. Bridget English's research interests lie in Irish literature and culture, theories of the novel, modernism, and the medical humanities. Her monograph Laying Out the Bones: Death and Dying in the Modern Irish Novel (Syracuse U.P. 2017), examines the ways that Irish wake and funeral rituals shape novelistic discourse, arguing that the treatment of death in Irish novels offers a way of making sense of mortality and provides insight into Ireland's cultural and historical experience of death. Matthew Fogarty is an Associate Lecturer at the School of English, Drama and Film in University College Dublin. He has published articles or has articles forthcoming in the Irish Gothic Journal, International Yeats Studies, Modern Drama, the James Joyce Quarterly, and the Journal of Academic Writing. His co-edited collection, Ethical Crossroads in Literary Modernism, is forthcoming with Clemson University Press.
