I am the oldest child of twelve children, yet I am an only child. However, I wish that I had been born an orphan as I believe that I would have been much better off. At age four, there was a discovery of my little brother's dead body floating face down in the bathtub. Was it a murder? In fourth grade, I was living in a nice home and in a nice neighborhood, but due to my father's expected job promotion out of state combined with a parental decision, I was to be left behind. At age nineteen, I had crushed college dreams, a downward emotional spiral, drugs, alcohol, lost days, and a bet that resulted in a marriage. And at twenty-four, I was completely broke, destitute, and alone. I have only three very special prayers with nothing left in life but hope.
