European Churches on the Internet: Challenges, Experiences and Visions

Editat de Barry Hudd, Ralf P Reimann
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 18 iun 2006
Christian Web pioneers from Eastern and Western Europe share their innovative ideas and their ecumenical vision and call on the church to strengthen its presence on the World Wide Web. This book is a collection of papers from the European Christian Internet Conferences 1996-2003 presented by men and women of vision with a commitment to Christ`s command to His Church for Communio and Mission, including the Vatican documents -The Church and Internet" and - Ethics in Internet". From the difficulties experienced in the countries of Eastern Europe to the sophisticated technology of the Nordic countries, these papers provide an insight to the thinking of those early pioneers who saw the Internet as a primary means of communication and evangelisation for the Church and a foresight to the age where the Internet is embedded into the everyday life of Church and society. Barry Hudd is Communications Officer for the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth in the south of England. He has made an extensive study of the use of the Internet by churches. His background is in Management, Marketing and Public Relations. Ralf Peter Reimann is Web Coordinator of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland and Secretary of the European Christian Internet Conference. He has studied theology and computer science and is responsible for various Christian Websites.
