Apollonia's long awaited novel, the last of the trilogy, finds Evangeline and Lorenzo living in high style in Detroit. Marriage is something Lorenzo won't consider because he has lost two wives already. He feels he has been cursed by the Mal' ochio, the evil eye, and he won't let that curse near his beloved Evangeline.
