Recenzii

"This is truly a one-of-a-kind book. I don't know of another 'getting down to brass tacks, here's what you do about this particular situation' reference work. I hope Everyday Activism is put to good use." -- --Betty DeGeneres, author of Love, Ellen: A Mother/Daughter Journey

"...a comprehensive guide to how the queer populace can unite and fight for common causes... clear cut chapters offer cogent arguments in favor of progressive politics and provide information on how to join the fight for queer rights..." -- Out
"Everyday Activism is a wake-up call. Engaging, eye-opening, and above all encouraging, this much-needed practical guide to personal activism should be required reading for everyone who believes there's nothing they can-and should-do to make a difference." -- -Michael Thomas Ford, author of The World Out There: Becoming Part of the Lesbian and Gay Community
"This important book tackles crucial policy concerns-political organizing, hate crimes, employment, housing, and military discrimination, among others-from a thoughtful activist perspective. What a useful and impressive accomplishment." -- -Craig A. Rimmerman, co-editor of The Politics of Gay Rights

"Filled with web links, organization contacts, and lists for further reading, this title is a great source of information and encouragement to people who are interested in political activism but unsure how to start. Recommended for most collections." -- Library Journal
"Everyday Activism is invaluable as a clarion declaration that the struggle for equality must be fought consistently by the community as a whole. In some ways, the book functions as a how-to manual. It contains a wealth of information about legal conflicts faced by the community and practical ways to be a force for change. But Everyday Activism also functions as a why-to manual, offering primers on the importance of convincing public officials why they must represent their gay constituency. Even if you break out the rainbow flags once a year, wouldn't it be nice to know why you're waving it." -- --Metrosource
