Dr. Carmen Brown is a board certified Obstetrician/Gynaecologist in the USA, Australia and New Zealand with over 15 years clinical experience in her speciality. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and obtained her Bachelors of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Tulane University in New Orleans. She graduated from medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta and went on to finish her speciality training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Houston, Texas. She has worked in private practice and in academics in Georgia, Arizona and Hawaii. She has held positions as Senior Clinical Lecturer at residency training programs and medical schools both in the USA and New Zealand. She moved overseas in 2010 with her husband in what was supposed to be a 1 year locum stint in New Zealand. Now almost 10 years, 1 child and 3 permanent residencies later, she is a senior Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist living in Melbourne, Australia. She is fellow of the American Board of Obstetricians/Gynecologists and the Royal Australian/New Zealand College of Obstetricians/Gynaecologists. She is founder and managing partner of ExpatMD, a consulting company that helps American physicians secure positions in New Zealand and Australia. Dr. Brown has been helping physicians move overseas for almost ten years and has done several interviews about her experience in working in both countries.
