Notă biografică

Xiangyun Du, Ph.D., is a professor at the Department of Learning and Philosophy and director of the Confucius Institute for Innovation and Learning, Aalborg University. Her main research interest has been focused on innovative teaching and learning in education, particularly, problem-based and project-based learning methodology in diverse fields such as engineering education, medical education and language education, as well as in diverse social, cultural and educational contexts. She has also been engaged in substantial work on pedagogy development in teaching and learning for educational institutions in more than 10 countries. Professor Du has over 80 international publications in relevant research areas including monographs, international journal papers, edited books and book chapters, as well as conference contributions. Mads Jakob Kirkebaek is an assistant professor at the Department of Learning and Philosophy and academic coordinator at the Confucious Institute for Innovation and Learning, Aalborg University, Denmark. His research and publication focuses on China-Danish history, the development of teaching methods for teachers teaching Chinese as a foreign language in a Danish context, in particular, Chinese character teaching. His recent publications include "Don't give up Chinese characters. Put them into tasks! On the use of tasks in teaching in Chinese characters" (in Danish "Laeg ikke tegnene pa hylden. Put dem i tasken! Om brug af tasks i undervisning i kinesiske skrifttegn"), and "Chinese Language in North Danish Schools - why" (in Danish - "Kinesisk i nordjyske skoler - hvorfor nu det?").
