On the corners of the courthouse, land is statue of Peter Hansborough Bell, the Governor who created Bell County Other pictures include City Hall, Belton old's railroad station, the Bell County Museum established in 1991, and the Chisholm Trail. This bronze statue consists of 17 bronze panels, three Longhorns, barbed wire, and a Texas star. This is a presentation of the trail. Other pictures include historic homes, churches, and some park area. Belton originally started out with the names Nolandville in 1950 and was renamed in 1951. In the Bell County
