FCX is a series of books taking place in Anea, in which a race called the Lumarians live. The Anea system's golden age of peace was ended abruptly when the Vamorians, who had departed from Lumaria long ago, attacked with technology the Lumarians were unprepared for. The war raged for years, and when it was over, the once thriving Anea system was left in shambles. In an effort to bring back peace despite its lack of manpower, the Navy now employs smaller teams of skilled fighters to take on the threats to Anea. The FCX is one such team, and this series follows them on their adventures. Traps II: The mission has gone bad, Shade and Haze have been trapped and cadged with no escape in sight. All seems bleak until Cub meets Xter and the two embark on a wild plan to rescue the rest of the FCX... Meanwhile, Shade is starting to suspect that something strange is beneath the recent events.
