Autor Grace E. M. Wakefield
en Limba Engleză Paperback
Felicity is an imaginative girl who lives a life of adventure with her friends in the Sylvan Forest which lies beyond the garden gate in the wallpaper of her room. Her magic thinking cap helps her get to far off places. An elf, named Tom Thumb, lives in a tree in the Sylvan Forest and becomes Felicity's best friend and fellow adventurer. Together they fly off to the Galapagos Islands where they romp with old tortoise and the blue footed boobies. There are adventures with Br'er Hare and characters from the Wind in the Willows. There are encounters with Mushroom Faeries under the ground. Bagheera appears from Kipling's Jungle Book and gives Felicity the ride of her life. Tom Thumb and Felicity visit Mr. Grumps by hot air balloon. With the help of a squadron of crows Felicity visits Mr. Dickens, the story teller, and Pongo, his obstreperous monkey companion. In a trip into the future Felicity discovers herself as an adult in the company of friends who share her love of fun. They meet beside a waterfall and cavort with mer-lads in the company of Merlin and Mage and Tom Thumb. The pixies build Felicity a home of her dreams in the Sylvan Forest where she can visit and always be young in the company of her forest friends. Grace belongs to a writing group who have met most months for ten years. They call themselves Faeries. They meet in each others? homes and share their stories over coffee and muffins; then they lunch together. They have been known to dress up with wings and have a garden party. Look for their new book titled Faerie Yarns by The Faerie Writing Group where they share stories and poems and paintings.
